About this Forum
“Next Gen(d)eration of Leaders for a Well-Nourished World” is a new initiative that builds on the experience of professional women working in the field of nutrition and food systems. Currently led by a Task Team of 12 women, the initiative started with a survey of 60 women from all over the world. After collective discussion and engagement with existing, complementary, leadership initiatives, we are now undertaking our inaugural activities with the ambition of reaching thousands more leaders at all levels committed to applying a set of what we are terming “courageous leadership practices”.
Our goal is to advance the application of courageous leadership practices at all levels to enable more impactful decision-making in nutrition and food systems. Our first activity is to experiment with some virtual gatherings.
As a leader striving to improve nutrition and food systems,·
- are you curious to hear from and connect with other women leaders in nutrition and food systems, from early career to senior?·
- would you welcome the opportunity to share your experiences in exercising leadership and learn from others navigating the challenges we face?·
- do you wish you had a way to forge alliances with other leaders outside of your own institution and context?
If any of these apply to you, you may be interested in attending our new & experimental ChangeMakersConnect virtual gatherings.
Our hope is that these gatherings will provide a space for mutual support, sharing of resources, and spark a new leadership collective to transform our food system to one that is equitable, nourishing, and sustainable. They are for women navigating leadership at all levels. This is one of several activities we are planning as described in the summary of our strategy, where you will also find out more information about who we are and the principles and practices we plan to advance. For additional details you are also welcomed to review our longer strategic document.

We hope you can join us on this journey working collectively to lift each other up as leaders while we to #ChooseToChallenge.
Sincerely,
